the memoir channel author interview – jacqueline lambert

I was delighted to be a guest on The Memoir Channel, which features “Interviews with the brave, hilarious, adventurous, wise and sometimes foolish authors of memoirs.”

Listen to the full interview here, and find out about my ‘Near Life Experiences’ and how I chose not to ‘Live Life in Thin Slices’!

I’m not sure which category I fit into… but if you listen to my interview, you can decide for yourself!

Together with her husband and four dogs, Jackie gave up work to become an Adventure Caravanner. The aim was to boldly go where no van has gone before, which they seem to be doing 🙂 Along the way, Jackie has published six light-hearted memoirs about her travels.

Her new book, the comic memoir, Building The Beast: How (Not) To Build An Overland Camper is available worldwide for pre order on Amazon at the special launch price of 99p/99c ahead of the release date on 26th April 2024.

It follows the story of how she and her husband, Mark, made an impulse purchase, sight unseen from the internet – a 24.5-tonne army truck.

Building The Beast is the story of how they specified, imported, and converted an unregistered, 6×4-wheel drive Volvo N10 into a unique off-grid tiny home-on-wheels fit to undertake an overland expedition to Mongolia with their four pups in tow.

Needless to say, it didn’t go to plan. Even before Brexit and coronavirus put their own unique spanners in the works…

“Hugely inspirational… What a story – and a fabulously entertaining book/read.”
